Day 2Palermo – Monreale – Mondello – Palermo (50km)

Take a morning of the historic centre of Palermo. Continue to Monreale to see the Cathedral of William II, famous for its magnificent Byzantine mosaics. Enjoy pizza for lunch, then explore the Capuchin Catacombs, the Capo market, and Mondello, a former fishing village. (B-L-D)

Day 3Palermo – Erice – Selinunte (200km)

Head to Erice, a medieval hilltop town overlooking the sea, the Egadi Islands, and Trapani. See the exterior of the Norman Castle, also known as the Castle of Venus. Continue to Selinunte for a tasting of the renowned Marsala wine. Take an afternoon guided tour of this ancient Greek city, including the Eastern Hill temples and the acropolis. Day 4Selinunte – Agrigento – Piazza Armerina – Catania (290km)
