What you’ll find in the Sherpa tool

  • Visa requirements: Find out if a visa is required, the type of visa needed, and how to apply for one.
  • Passport and documents: Check how long your passport must be valid from your date of entry into the country. Sherpa also points out if you need to provide other documents upon arrival.
  • Risks and health requirements: See the list of recommended vaccines. Also find out if you need proof of vaccination.
  • Travel Restrictions: Check if you can enter the country and if you are allowed to return to Canada.
  • Departures and returns: By default, the tool displays information about departure. Be sure to check the tab about returning to Canada. You will find out if there are any special measures you need to observe when you return to the country.
  • Stopovers and transfers: Even for a short transit, certain requirements may apply. Check the rules of the countries you are stopping over in.
