Day 1Tallinn

Day 2Tallinn

Take a guided tour of the Estonian capital and its well-preserved 14th- and 15th-century remains. Explore the old town and Toompea Castle. Visit the interior of the St. Alexander Nevsky Orthodox Cathedral, an imposing testament to Russian imperialism. Lunch and free afternoon. (B-L)

Day 3Tallinn – Pärnu – Sigulda – Riga (360km)

Leave for Latvia along the Baltic Sea coast. Stop in Pärnu, a city with a rich Hanseatic past. Then, visit Gauja National Park, created in 1973 to protect the breathtaking beauty of the region. Feast your eyes on Turaida Castle, then take a scenic tour of Sigulda. Visit the wooden church typical of the Vidzeme region and the nearby cemetery. Day 4Riga – Jurmala – Riga (50km)

Take a guided walking tour of the old town of Riga, which features a wide variety of architectural styles, from Gothic to Baroque. Then, walk through the Art Nouveau district. In the afternoon, stroll through the Central Market, housed in an old Zeppelin hangar with five immense food halls. Hop on the coach to go to J?rmala and explore this popular seaside resort on your own. (B-L)

Day 5Riga – Rundale – Šiauliai – Klaipeda (340km)

Head to Bauska and Rund?le to visit Rundale Castle and its Baroque Art Museum. After crossing the border into Lithuania, stop in Šiauliai to see the Hill of Crosses. Continue on to Klaipeda, former Hanseatic trading post turned seaside resort. Amberton Hotel Klaipeda 4* or similar (B-L)

Day 6Klaipeda – Curonian Spit – Vilnius (310km)

Board a ferry and sail to Neringa Peninsula, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stop in the famous fishing village of Nida, with its flower-filled alleys lined with colourful houses with woven reed roofs. Enjoy a typical regional lunch. Continue to the village of Juodkrante to visit Raganu Kalnas Park, which features more than 80 oak sculptures of characters from Lithuanian folklore. Day 7Vilnius
