Day 1Montreal – Porto

Fight to Porto.

Day 2Porto

Arrive and transfer to hotel, with room access upon arrival. In the afternoon, take a sightseeing tour of the city of Porto. Hotel Carrís Porto Ribeira 4* (B)

Day 3Porto

In the morning, go on a walking tour of some of Porto’s lesser-known gems. Then, board a rabelo boat—once used to transport barrels of Port wine—for a river cruise offering stunning views of the six bridges that connect Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia. Spend the rest of the day as you please. (B)

Day 4Porto – Amarante – Pinhão – Porto (255km)

Set off for the Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Tour the Church of Amarante, the São Gonçalo Monastery, and the historic town centre, including the bridge over the Tâmega River. Continue to a viewpoint overlooking the lush vineyards and rolling hills of the Douro Valley. Tour a renowned wine estate, enjoy a tasting of three fine wines, and learn about the Port wine production process. Have lunch at the estate. Take the legendary N222 road to Pinhão, often cited as one of the world’s most beautiful drives. Enjoy a scenic cruise on the Douro River, with views of the vineyards and landscapes from the water. Day 5Porto – Tunes – Portimão (550km)

Transfer to the station to take the train to the Algarve. Be met at Portimão station, transfer to the hotel, and check in for the next 4 nights. Turim Presidente Hotel 4* (B-D)

Day 7Portimão – Cape St. Vincent – Sagres – Lagos – Ponta da Piedade - Portimão (140km)

Discover the spectacular landscapes of the Algarve, starting with the dramatic cliffs of Cape St. Vincent, known as the “end of the world,” then visit the Fortress of Sagres, linked to the legendary Prince Henry the Navigator. Have lunch where you please. Continue to Lagos, a charming coastal town famous for its amazing light and stunning beaches. End the day with a stroll along the breathtaking coastline to Ponta da Piedade, with panoramic ocean views. (B-D)

Day 8Portimão

Day 9Portimão – Tunes – Lisbon (280km)

Transfer from Portimão to the Tunes station to take the train to Lisbon. Be met at the station for a sightseeing tour of Lisbon. Transfer to the hotel and check in for the next 3 nights. Enjoy a fado performance over dinner. Wilde Aparthotels Lisbon Liberdade 4* (B-D)

Day 10Lisbon – Sintra – Lisbonne (80km)

Depart for Sintra. Visit the Pena Park, a lush natural sanctuary, followed by the Pena Palace—a masterpiece of 19th-century Romantic architecture, straight out of a fairy tale. Continue to the historic centre and visit the National Palace of Sintra. Sample local sweets. Return to Lisbon along the scenic coastal route, passing through the seaside towns of Cascais and Estoril. (B)

Day 11Lisbon

Explore Lisbon’s historic neighbourhoods: Baixa, Alfama, and Mouraria. Savour Portuguese small plates paired with local wines in a traditional Alfama tavern, and sample the city’s famous street food. Take a one-hour tuk-tuk ride through the city. Explore iconic sites and Lisbon’s highest viewpoint. Spend the rest of the day as you please. (B)

Day 12Lisbon - Montreal

Transfer to the airport. Return flight to Montreal. (B)
