Itinerary
- Day 1: Montreal - Ponta Delgada, São Miguel Island
Flight to Ponta Delgada.
- Day 2: Ponta Delgada, São Miguel Island
Arrival at Ponta Delgada airport and transfer to the hotel. Guided walking tour of Ponta Delgada’s historical center to discover its 16th-century buildings and Baroque architecture. After exploring the historical center, stop at Jardim António Borges, a 19th-century public botanical garden featuring hundreds of exotic plant species. The tour continues at Mercado da Graça, a vibrant local market showcasing the island's regional products. Hotel Marina Atlântico 4*
- Day 3: Ponta Delgada – Sete Cidades – Ribeira Grande – Ponta Delgada, São Miguel Island (102 km)
Visit and tasting at a traditional pineapple plantation. Continue to the west coast with a stop at the Pico do Carvão lookout, followed by the Vista do Rei viewpoint, offering a breathtaking vista of the Sete Cidades volcanic complex and its twin lakes (the Blue and Green lakes). Lunch at a local restaurant in the picturesque village of Sete Cidades. In the afternoon, visit the historic center of Ribeira Grande, followed by the Caldeira Velha Environmental Interpretation Centre, a protected nature reserve featuring a thermal hot spring waterfall. On the way, stop to admire the stunning Lagoa do Fogo. Return to Ponta Delgada via Pico da Barrosa for a unique view of the narrowest part of the island. (B-L)
- Day 4 : Ponta Delgada – Furnas – Ponta Delgada, São Miguel Island (93 km)
Heading toward Furnas, stop at Vila Franca do Campo, the island's first capital, to taste the famous Queijada da Vila pastry. Upon arrival in the Furnas Valley, discover volcanic phenomena and fumaroles where the renowned "Cozido das Furnas"—a traditional stew cooked by geothermal heat—is prepared (served for lunch). Continue to Terra Nostra Park, one of the most iconic botanical gardens in the Azores. In the afternoon, visit the Caldeiras and their mineral-rich medicinal springs. Stop at the Pico do Ferro lookout for a spectacular view of the valley. On the north coast, visit the Gorreana tea plantation and factory for a tasting. Finally, stop at the Santa Iria lookout for a magnificent view of the north coast. (B-L)

- Day 10: Angra do Heroísmo, Terceira Island
Walking tour of Angra do Heroísmo, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The tour begins at Pátio da Alfândega, highlighting the city's historical significance in maritime trade and transatlantic navigation. Stroll along Rua Direita, the city’s most iconic street lined with traditional shops, leading to Praça Velha. Stop at Jardim Duque da Terceira, a lush botanical garden known for its peaceful atmosphere. Continue to the Palácio dos Capitães-Generais, the former residence of the island's governors. Along the way, pass the Teatro Angrense, one of the oldest theaters in the Azores, and the Sé Cathedral, a major religious landmark dating back to 1570. Remainder of the day at leisure. (B)
- Day 11: Angra do Heroísmo - Feteira - Fontinhas - Biscoitos - Angra do Heroísmo, Terceira Island (79 km)
Head to Monte Brasil, an extinct volcano offering spectacular panoramic views of Angra do Heroísmo and the surrounding coastline. Continue to a local coffee and fruit farm to discover the island’s authentic flavors through a charming rural experience. Stop at a lookout overlooking the Cabras Islets, one of Terceira’s most iconic natural landmarks. Lunch featuring typical regional dishes, highlighting the traditional cuisine of the island. In the afternoon, stop at the Serra do Cume lookout, famous for its "patchwork quilt" fields and considered one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Portugal. Continue to Praia da Vitória, the birthplace of writer Vitorino Nemésio. Finally, head to Biscoitos to discover remarkable lava formations and natural pools set within a peaceful reserve; possibility of a refreshing swim. (B-L)
