Day 1Montréal – Brussels

Fly to Brussels.

Day 2Brussels

Day 3Brussels

In the morning, take a guided tour of Brussels, the beating heart of the European Union and a city rich in history and architecture, followed by a chocolate factory visit and a tasting. Spend the rest of the afternoon as you please. (B)

Day 4Brussels – Bruges – Ghent – Brussels (203km)

Head to Bruges. Take a guided walking tour of this medieval city, including the main square and the Beguine convent, which dates back to the 13th century. Continue on to the university city of Ghent for a guided walking tour where you’ll see the Castle of the Counts of Flanders, a 12th-century fortress, and Saint Bavo’s Cathedral. (B)

Day 5Brussels – Mechelen – Antwerp (60km)

Leave for Mechelen in the morning. Upon arrival, take a tour of the city including the historic centre and the cathedral, followed by a visit to the Het Anker brewery, the oldest in Belgium, and a beer tasting. After lunch, spend the afternoon as you please. Transfer to Antwerp and board the MS Monet. Welcome cocktail party. (B-D)

Day 6Antwerp – Rotterdam

In the morning, explore Antwerp’s old town, with highlights that include Butcher’s Hall and the main square, the site of the cathedral. Don’t miss the intricate stonework of this stunning edifice, built over two centuries. In the afternoon, return to the ship and continue your cruise towards Rotterdam. Gala evening on board. (B-L-D)

Day 7Rotterdam – Amsterdam

Visit the world-famous Keukenhof flower gardens, a testament to the cultural importance of flowers and the flower industry in the Netherlands. Enjoy some afternoon free time to explore Rotterdam. Sail to Amsterdam in the evening. (B-L-D)

Day 8Amsterdam – Volendam – Zaanse Schans (72km)

In the morning, board a boat for a guided tour of the city along the four canals that circle the centre of Amsterdam. In the afternoon, travel by coach to Volendam for a cheese factory tour and a demonstration of how Gouda is made. Continue to Zaanse Schans, an open-air museum where you’ll learn about wooden clogs, whose history can be traced back to the year 1200, and see a clog-making demonstration. Return to the ship. Day 9Amsterdam – Utrecht – ’s-Hertogenbosch (100km)

Disembark in the morning, then travel to Utrecht—the oldest city in the Netherlands, known for its architecture and charming canals. Take a guided walking tour of the old town and the postcard-pretty neighbourhood of Oudegracht. Continue to ’s-Hertogenbosch, famous for its medieval allure. Day 10’s-Hertogenbosch – Heeswijk – Ravenstein – ’s-Hertogenbosch (74km)
