Day 1Beijing

Upon arrival at the airport, transfer to the hotel. Xizhao Temple Hotel 3* or similar.

Day 2Beijing

Visit to Tiananmen Square and the magnificent Forbidden City, former residence of the Ming and Qing emperors. Lunch with a local family, followed by a visit to a local market. Discovery of the Temple of Heaven and Liulichang, a famous street known for antiques and traditional Chinese art. Dinner at a restaurant. Evening acrobatic show and introduction to Chinese opera. Day 3Beijing

Excursion to the Juyongguan section of the Great Wall, one of China’s most iconic landmarks, offering magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. In the afternoon, discovery of traditional Chinese craftsmanship during a visit to a cloisonné workshop. Photo stop at the Olympic Park to admire the famous “Bird’s Nest” Stadium and the spectacular “Water Cube”. In the evening, Peking duck dinner, one of Beijing’s most renowned specialties. (B-L-D)

Day 4Beijing – Pingyao

Visit to the Summer Palace, the former imperial retreat and one of Beijing’s most beautiful landscaped complexes. After lunch, transfer to the railway station and boarding of a high-speed train to Pingyao. Upon arrival, welcome and transfer to a traditional-style inn reminiscent of 1920s China. Day 5Pingyao – Xi’an

Discovery of Pingyao, a historic town recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk along the impressive city walls for panoramic views of the old town. Visit to Rishengchang, China’s first bank, followed by the yamen, the district’s former administrative headquarters. Lunch at a local inn. Stroll through the narrow streets of the old city, discovering temples, traditional residences and reminders of its prosperous merchant past. Day 6Xi’an

Day 7Xi’an – Shanghai

Visit to the Small Wild Goose Pagoda. Located south of Xi’an within the Jianfu Temple complex, this historic pagoda was built between 707 and 709 during the Tang Dynasty under Emperor Zhongzong. Introduction to Chinese calligraphy. Combining writing and painting, spiritual practice and personal discipline, calligraphy has held a privileged place in Chinese civilization since ancient times. Day 8Shanghai

Discovery of Shanghai with a stroll through Fuxing Park, a popular gathering place for local residents. Journey through the former French Concession and the artistic Moganshan district. Ferry crossing of the Huangpu River to Pudong, the modern district renowned for its impressive skyline and skyscrapers. Day 9Shanghai – Zhujiajiao – Shanghai (100km)

Excursion to the water town of Zhujiajiao, renowned for its picturesque canals, stone bridges and peaceful atmosphere. Boat ride through the town to discover its traditional architecture. Visit to a silk factory to learn about the various stages of silk production. Return to Shanghai. Day 10Shanghai – Guilin

Day 11Guilin – Yangshuo – Guilin (160km)

Transfer to the town of Yangshuo. Raft excursion along a tributary of the Li River, followed by a visit to the local market and its traditional stalls. Continue to the traditional village of Fuli. Return to Guilin at the end of the day and dinner. (B-L-D)

Day 12Guilin

Discovery of the city of Guilin. Visit to the famous Elephant Trunk Hill, the city’s iconic landmark. Continue to Fubo Hill, a majestic peak overlooking the Li River. Lunch at a restaurant. Day 13Guilin – Hong Kong
