Day 1Siem Reap

Arrive at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Somadevi Angkor Resort & Spa 4* or similar (S)

Day 2Angkor Thom – Angkor Wat

Tour Angkor Thom: the Bayon and Baphuon temples, the Royal Citadel, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Explore the Ta Prohm temple, followed by lunch. In the afternoon, visit Angkor Wat, masterpiece of Khmer civilization, and take in the sunset from Phnom Bakheng Mountain. Sample local specialities for dinner. (B-L-D)

Day 3Roluos – Banteay Srei – Satcha

Spend the morning visiting the Roluos group of Khmer temples: Preah Kô, Bakong and Lolei. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, explore the temple of Banteay Srei, a jewel of Khmer art sculpted in red sandstone, followed by a visit to the Satcha handicrafts centre. Dinner with an Apsara dance performance. Day 4Siem Reap – Tonlé Sap – Battambang (165km – 3h)

Take a boat cruise on Tonlé Sap Lake and visit the floating village of Kampong Phluk. Travel to Battambang, with a stop to see stone carvers. Arrive and check in at the hotel. In the afternoon, explore Battambang on foot and visit the Phare Ponleu Selpak circus. Have dinner at the Jaan Bai social enterprise restaurant Classy Hotel & Spa 4* or similar (B-L-D)

Day 5Battambang

After breakfast, hop on a tuk-tuk to explore the Battambang countryside with its traditional homes, local artisans, rice paddies, and scenes of everyday life. Sample local products and visit the village of Samrong Knong. After lunch, ride a bamboo train and discover the village of Wat Kor and Phnom Sampov Mountain. (B-L-D)

Day 6Battambang – Pursat – Kampong Chhnang – Phnom Penh (300km – 7h)

Breakfast at the hotel, then set out for Phnom Penh, “City of Four Faces.” En route, stop at the carving workshops in Pursat and the pottery village of Kampong Chhnang. Continue to Mount Oudong, the former royal capital and home to a Buddha relic. Arrive in Phnom Penh in the late afternoon and check in at the hotel. Anik Palace Hotel 4* or similar (B-L-D)

Day 7Phnom Penh

Tour the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda, renowned for its silver-tiled floor and precious statues. Explore the National Museum and its collection of Khmer art. After lunch, visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, a poignant memorial of the Khmer Rouge regime. Then explore Wat Phnom, the city’s most emblematic temple, and the Central Market, Phsar Thmei, a treasure of colonial architecture. (B-L-D)
