- Day 1: New Delhi
Airport pickup and transfer to the hotel. Cardinal Express Oxmo Hotel 3* or similar
- Day 2: New Delhi – Alsisar (250km)
Head to Shekhawati, a region known as the world’s largest open-air art gallery. There you’ll find havelis, small palaces with painted fresco walls. Indra Vilas Hotel Alsisar 3* or similar (B-D)
- Day 3: Alsisar – Bikaner (225km)
Depart for Bikaner. Visit the palace of the maharajas, located inside a citadel, the Junagarh Fort. Then take a tuk-tuk ride to explore the local bazaar, including the Jain temple and havelis. Raj Haveli Hotel Bikaner 3* or similar (B-D)
- Day 4: Bikaner – Jaisalmer (335km)
Transfer to Jaisalmer, in the Thar Desert. In the afternoon, explore Vyas Chhatri, a popular place to take in the fort at sunset. Golden Haveli Hotel Jaisalmer 3* or similar (B-D)
- Day 5: Jaisalmer – Thar Desert – Jaisalmer
Tour Jaisalmer, a city of caravans. Stop at Gadi Sagar Lake and the Folklore Museum. Next, explore the fort and havelis. After lunch, head to the sand dunes for a camel ride at sunset. (B-D)
- Day 6: Jaisalmer – Jodhpur (290km)
Travel to Jodhpur, nicknamed the Blue City. See the city, where Mehrangarh Fort—the Fort of the Sun—dominates the landscape. Then, tour the Jaswant Thada white marble mausoleum. Take a late afternoon stroll through bazaar market stalls bursting with sari fabrics, spices, grains, fruits, and vegetables. Vega by the Ozone Hotel Jodhpur 4* or similar (B-D)
- Day 7: Jodhpur – Ranakpur – Udaipur (250km)
Tour the Ranakpur Jain Temple, nestled in a valley in the Aravalli Range. Continue on to Udaipur, the White City and Rajasthan’s most romantic escape. It’s less a fortress, more a serene garden of lakes and palaces. Pride Hotel Udaipur 3* or similar (B-D)
- Day 8: Udaipur
Tour the city of Udaipur in the morning, then enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola. Next, head to Sahelion Ki Bari, meaning “Garden of the Maidens.” After lunch, view traditional miniature paintings. (B-D)
- Day 9 : Udaipur – Pushkar (300km)
Travel to Pushkar, a small town on the shores of one of India’s most sacred lakes. Tour the temple dedicated to Brahma. Then, poke around the lively Pushkar market. Hotel Brahma Horizon 4* or similar (B-D)
- Day 10: Pushkar – Jaipur (145km)
Leave for Jaipur, the Pink City and the capital of Rajasthan. Spend time with a local family and learn about Indian cuisine. Have lunch on site. In the evening, transfer to the cinema to take in a Bollywood movie. Hotel Park Ocean 4* or similar (B-L-D)
- Day 11 : Jaipur – Amber Fort – Jaipur
Visit Amber Fort, the former residence of the maharajas. Tour the palace and the historic harem quarters. Next, see the workshops where textile blocks are printed. In the afternoon, visit the astronomical observatory. Continue on to the Palace of Winds, then take a rickshaw ride through the old town. (B-D)
- Day 12: Jaipur – Agra (240km)
Travel to Agra. Renowned during the reign of the Mughal emperors, the Taj City was once the capital of the Mughal Empire. Explore the Red Fort, former residence of the Mughal rulers. Hotel Surasena Regal Vista 3* or similar (B-D)
- Day 13 : Agra – New Delhi (200km)
In the morning, visit the Taj Mahal, a masterpiece of Indo-Persian art and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Return to New Delhi and explore the city: Gandhi’s house, the Gurdwara Bangla Sahib Sikh temple, the India Gate war memorial, standing 42 m high, and the Parliament building.
