Day 2Fort-de-France

Spend the day exploring northern Martinique’s verdant landscapes. Visit Sacré-Cœur de Balata Church before wandering through the magnificent Balata Garden, a botanical paradise of tropical plants from around the world. See the ruins of historic Saint-Pierre, a City of Art and History destroyed in 1902 by the eruption of Montagne Pelée. Head to Morne-Rouge to sample local specialties for lunch. On the way back to the hotel, stop at a renowned distillery to taste one of the island’s finest rums. (B-L-D)

Day 3Fort-de-France

Spend the day exploring the south of the island and Trois-Îlets. Visit Domaine de La Pagerie, birthplace of Empress Joséphine, and Maison de la Canne. Follow the scenic Route des Anses through fishing villages to Le Diamant, known for its iconic offshore rock. Head to Sainte-Anne for a seaside lunch, then relax on the turquoise shores and lagoon of Les Salines. Return to the hotel. (B-L-D)

Day 5Fort-de-France - Pointe-à-Pitre

Day 6Pointe-à-Pitre

Tour Sainte-Anne, drive through the valleys of Grands Fonds, and visit the unique Morne-à-l’Eau cemetery. Head north for dramatic views at Porte d’Enfer and Pointe de la Grande Vigie. Day 7Pointe-à-Pitre

Explore southern Basse-Terre, stopping at Sainte-Marie (landing site of Christopher Columbus) and the Changy Hindu Temple. After breakfast, take a guided tour of Fort Napoléon. Known for its 17th-century fortifications, the fort offers breathtaking views over one of the world’s most beautiful bays. Day 11Les Saintes - Pointe-à-Pitre
