Day 1Montréal - Bordeaux

Fly to Bordeaux.

Day 2Bordeaux

Airport pickup and transfer to hotel. Hotel de Seze 4* (D)

Day 3Bordeaux – Arcachon – Hasparren (263km)

Set off in the morning for Arcachon, famous among other things for its beautiful sandy beaches and Winter Town with its impressive 1860s mansions. Have lunch downtown. In the afternoon, take a short cruise on the Arcachon Basin, then continue to Hasparren. Hotel Berria 4* (B-L-D)

Day 4Hasparren – Bayonne – Biarritz – Hasparren (67 km)

Travel to Bayonne, a town first fortified by the Romans, then by Vauban. Visit the cathedral. Lunch at a traditional cidery. Travel to Biarritz in the afternoon for some free time by the sea. (B-L-D)

Day 5Hasparren – La Rhune – Sare – Ainhoa – Hasparren (67km)

Go for a morning ride on a cog-wheel train 905m up the mountain to Basque Country, where you’ll have incredible views of French and Spanish towns and the Pyrenees. Have a spit roast lunch in a grotto in Sare. Carry on to Ainhoa, one of France’s most beautiful villages. Stop in at Puyodebat, a famous Basque chocolaterie. Return to the hotel. (B-L-D)

Day 6Hasparren – Saint-Jean-de-Luz – Hendaye – Hondarribia – Hasparren (121km)

Head to Saint-Jean-de-Luz for a guided tour. Visit Hendaye, home to the longest beach on the Basque coast, and then visit Hondarribia, one of the prettiest Basque villages on the Spanish side, with its ramparts and old stone walls. (B-L-D)

Day 7Hasparren– Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port – Espelette – Hasparren (88km)

Go on a morning tour of the Arnabar heritage farm to see how they raise ducks and pigs. Tasting of Bayonne ham. Stop at an Espelette pepper producer’s in the afternoon for a pepper tasting. (B-L-D)

Day 8Hasparren - Saint-Etienne d'Orthe – Bordeaux (218 km)

Head to Bordeaux and stop at an artisanal clog factory, then visit a beekeeper for a honey tasting. Continue to Bordeaux to board the MS Cyrano de Bergerac. Welcome cocktail party. (B-L-D)

Day 9Bordeaux – Cussac-Fort-Médoc

Wine tour to Medoc for a taste of an exceptional terroir that produces the world’s most prestigious red wines. Stop among the famous vineyards to sample these nectars of the gods as you travel the famous “Châteaux Route.” (B-L-D)

Day 10Cussac-Fort-Médoc – Gironde Estuary – Blaye

Set sail for Blaye early in the morning. Tour the citadel in a small train, then visit Marquis de Vauban Castle and enjoy a wine tasting paired with regional specialties. Dance the night away on board the ship. (B-L-D)

Jour 11Blaye – Libourne – Saint-Émilion

Head to the medieval city of Saint-Emilion for a panoramic tour. Then visit a vineyard to learn how wine is made in Saint-Emilion, followed by a wine tasting. Gala evening and sail to Libourne. (B-L-D)

Day 12Libourne – Bordeaux

Guided tour of Bordeaux, a UNESCO world cultural heritage site. Take a sightseeing bus tour to see the main landmarks, and visit Old Bordeaux on foot, meandering by the Grand Théatre and along the narrow streets of Saint-Pierre. (B-L-D)

Day 13Bordeaux - Montréal

Transfer to the airport early in the morning and fly back to Montréal. (B)
