Leave by coach in the morning for a guided tour of the medieval city of Guérande, known for its ramparts and its rich Breton heritage. Have lunch on your own, then continue to the salt marshes, where a salt worker will introduce you to the traditional art of harvesting fleur de sel in a unique protected area. Taste local delicacies: salted butter caramels, Breton cookies, and more. Return to Nantes. (B-L)
In the morning, visit the distinctive and colourful district of Trentemoult, a former fishing village. After lunch, hop on the tourist train for a sightseeing tour of Nantes. In the late afternoon, board MS Loire Princesse then enjoy a dinner and a welcome reception. Sail to Saint-Nazaire in the evening. (B-L-D)
In the morning, take a guided tour of the small coastal town of Saint-Nazaire and discover the fascinating history of transatlantic liners. Return to the ship and sail to Nantes. In the morning, take a guided tour of the city of Nantes and the château of the Dukes of Brittany. In the afternoon, head out on the Muscadet wine route towards the village of Clisson. Tour the Cassemichère Château estate, then head to Clisson. Spend time on your own exploring the town, dubbed “Little Italy of the West.” Return to the boat for an evening of onboard entertainment. Sail to Chalonnes-sur-Loire in the morning. In the afternoon, visit Angers and its historic neighbourhoods, including the famous Apocalypse Tapestry. Return to the ship in the late afternoon. Enjoy a gala dinner. (B-L-D)
