Day dedicated to the exploration of Fes, the country’s oldest imperial city. Discovery of the medieval medina and its main monuments, followed by the districts of Mellah and Fes Jdid. (B-D)
Departure for the archeological site of Volubilis. Stop at Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, shrine of pilgrimage. Arrival in Meknes featuring a tour of the city to see the Sahrij Swani basin, the Bab Mansour Gate or even the El-Hedime Square. Return to Fes. (B-D)
Journey to the Sahara Desert. Stop to see the Azrou Cedar Forest, then onward to Midelt, nestled at 1520m above sea level. Continuation to Erfoud and transfer in 4WD to explore the Merzouga region. Camel ride across the dunes followed by a traditional Berber dinner under the stars. Night in a tent. Bivouac Azawad (B-D)
Early-morning wake-up to witness the sunrise. Departure to Tinghir to discover the impressive Todra Gorges. Onward to the Dades valley through outstanding landscapes. Stop in Kalaat M’Gouna, the rose water capital of the country. Arrival in Boumalne Dades. Hotel Xaluca Dades 4* (B-D)
Visit of the Taourirt kasbahs (outside) and Aït Benhaddou. Onward to Marrakesh through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, culminating at an altitude of 2260m. Hotel Grand Plaza 4* (B-D)
Tour of the Majorelle Garden, built in the 1920s by painter Jacques Majorelle. Visit of the Koutoubia Mosque and the Bahia Palace. In the afternoon, walk through the souks of Marrakesh, discovery of Moroccan craftwork and the Jemaa el-Fna square, where jugglers, acrobats and snake charmers gather. Day in the High Atlas. Departure for Tahanaout to marvel at the beautiful scenery and drink tea with the locals. Onward to Lake Lalla Takerkoust via the Kik Plateau. Dinner at the restaurant, followed by free time to enjoy the surroundings. Return to Marrakesh by the Amizmiz Road. (B-L-D)
Trip to the Atlantic coast. Stop in a cooperative producing argan oil. Arrival in Essaouira to explore the medina along with the souks, the port, the ramparts and the old Jewish quarter.
