Day 1Johannesburg

Airport pickup and transfer to the hotel. Indaba Hotel, Conference Centre & Spa 4* or similar

Day 2Johannesburg – Hazyview (430km – 5h)

Take a tuk-tuk tour of Soweto, famous for its political history inspired by American Black theology and the Black Power movement. Have lunch at a shebeen. Depart for Hazyview with a cultural stop at The Corn and Cob to learn about Ndebele traditions. ANEW Resort Hazyview 3* or similar (B-L-D)

Day 3Hazyview – Rivière Blyde – Pilgrim’s Rest – Parc national Kruger (400km – 7h)

Head to Blyde River Canyon. Enjoy lunch, then continue to Pilgrim’s Rest, a historic mining village. Settle into your tented camp on the edge of Kruger National Park. Unyati Safari Lodge 3* or similar (B-L-D)

Day 4Kruger National Park

Full-day 4x4 safari in Kruger, home to the legendary Big Five: elephants, buffalo, leopards, lions, and rhinos. Have a picnic lunch in the park. Return to camp for a sunset cocktail. (B-L-D)

Day 5Kruger National Park – Eswatini (250km – 3hr. 30min.)

Enjoy breakfast in the bush, within the lodge’s concession. Ride across the border into Eswatini. Continue to Hlane Royal National Park. Go on an afternoon 4x4 and walking safari with an English-speaking ranger in search of rhinos. The George Hotel 3* or similar (B-L-D)

Day 6Eswatini – Zulu Nyala Reserve (290km – 4hr.)

Visit a local market and a handmade candle workshop. Continue to Hluhluwe. Have lunch at a local restaurant. Check in at the lodge and explore a traditional Zulu village. Zulu Nyala Heritage Safari Lodge 3* or similar (B-L-D)

Day 7Zulu Nyala Reserve – iSimangaliso Wetland Park – Zulu Nyala Reserve

Drive to St. Lucia for a water safari in iSimangaliso Wetland Park, on a quest for hippos and crocodiles. Return to Hluhluwe in the afternoon for a 4x4 safari with an English-speaking ranger in Zulu Nyala Reserve. (B-L-D)

Day 8Zulu Nyala Reserve – Durban – Cape Town

Have a light breakfast. Transfer to Durban airport and fly to Cape Town. Meet your local French-speaking guide for an overview tour of the Castle of Good Hope, the old docks, the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, and the Woodstock district. Stroll through the Bo-Kaap district. Spend time with a local family, followed by a South African Malay cooking class and dinner in their home. Cresta Grande Cape Town Hotel 3* or similar (B-L-D)

Day 9Cape Town

Visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Check out the docks, then have lunch where you please. In the afternoon, ride the cable car up Table Mountain (weather permitting). Continue to Signal Hill for a sunset cocktail with South African sparkling wine as you take in the view of Cape Town. (B-D)

Day 10Cape Town
