Day 1Lima

Airport pickup and transfer to the hotel. Arawi Miraflores Express Hotel 3* or similar

Day 2Lima – Arequipa

Explore the capital city centre: Plaza de Armas, San Francisco convent, Miraflores district, and Santo Domingo convent. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport and fly to Arequipa. Casona Plaza Hotel AQP 3* or similar (B-L)

Day 3Arequipa – Puno (300km)

Tour Arequipa’s Plaza de Armas, its cathedral, the Mundo Alpaca museum, and the Monastery of Santa Catalina—as big as a small town. In the afternoon head to Puno, passing the wondrous landscapes of the Andes. Casona Plaza Hotel Puno 3* or similar (B-L)

Day 4Puno – Lake Titicaca – Puno

Transfer to the port of Puno for a day trip on Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. Visit the Uros floating islands. Sail on to Taquile Island, home to 1,500 people who have held on to their old customs and traditions. Have lunch on site. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon and spend the rest of the day as you please. (B-L)

Day 5Puno – Cuzco (360km)

Depart for Cuzco, a city perched at an altitude of over 3,000m and former capital of the Inca Empire. Travel through the Altiplano, where you can admire breathtaking landscapes and glaciers, and lots of llamas and vicuñas. Stop at the Inca site of Raqchi to visit its famous temple of the god Wiracocha and the church of Andahuaylillas, dubbed the “Sistine Chapel of Latin America.” Taypikala Hotel 3* or similar (B-L)

Day 6CuZco – Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu – Sacred Valley (115km)

Travel to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Departure by train to Aguas Calientes for the discovery of Machu Picchu. Former administrative and religious epicentre of the Incas, this complex stands as the most accomplished expression of their architectural mastery. Hotel Mabey Urubamba 3* (B-L)

Day 7Sacred Valley – Urubamba – Cuzco (115km)

Day 8Cuzco
