Flight to Rio de Janeiro.

Day 2Rio de Janeiro

Day 3Rio de Janeiro

Visit to Corcovado Mountain by coach and train to reach the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, one of the New Seven Wonders of the Modern World, and enjoy exceptional views over Rio de Janeiro. Continue to the hillside district of Santa Teresa. Discovery of its bohemian atmosphere, cobblestone streets, colourful colonial houses and art galleries. Return to the hotel. Evening at leisure. Day 4Rio de Janeiro

Exploration of Centro, Rio de Janeiro’s historic downtown district. Visit to the Municipal Theatre, the National Museum of Fine Arts at Cinelândia Square, Colombo Confectionery, Largo da Carioca Square, Saint Sebastian Metropolitan Cathedral, Praça XV and Paço Imperial, Travessa do Comércio and Arco do Teles, as well as Candelária Church and São Bento Monastery dating back to the 17th century. Day 5Rio de Janeiro

Day dedicated to Cidade do Samba. Immersion into the production site of the world’s largest carnival. Observation of float and costume workshops. Visit to samba schools, including Grande Rio, winner of the 2022 Carnival. Samba initiation, costume fitting and welcome caipirinha tasting. Return to the hotel. Evening at leisure. (B)

Day 6 Copacabana – Rio de Janeiro – Iguazu

Transfer to the airport and flight to Foz do Iguaçu. Guided tour of the Brazilian side of the falls, featuring spectacular panoramic views along 1200m of walkways overlooking the falls and Devil’s Throat. Transfer to the hotel. Evening at leisure. Viale Cataratas Hotel 4* (B)

Day 7Iguazu

Excursion to the Argentine side of the falls. Train ride through Iguazu National Park and discovery of its three main trails: Devil’s Throat Circuit, Upper Circuit and Lower Circuit. Free time for lunch at one of the restaurants in the park. Remainder of the day at leisure. (B)

Day 8Iguazu - Rio de Janeiro - Copacabana

Day 9Copacabana - Paraty (250km - 4h)

Drive to the town of Paraty. Walking tour of the historic centre featuring its colonial charm and rich heritage. Stroll through cobblestone streets lined with historic homes, centuries-old churches and artisan workshops. Visit to landmark sites including the House of Culture, local art studios, and the churches of Our Lady of Remedies, Our Lady of Sorrows, Our Lady of the Rosary and Saint Rita of Cascia. Day 10Paraty

Jeep excursion into the Serra da Bocaina, a remarkable natural area of mountains, forests and waterfalls. Exploration of the Atlantic Forest and its accessible trails. Stops at major waterfalls with crystal-clear waters, including Pedra Branca Waterfall, Tarzan’s Well and Toboggan Waterfall. Visit to a traditional distillery showcasing the production of artisanal cachaça, a heritage dating back to the 18th century. Return to the hotel. Free time. (B)

Day 12Paraty – Angra dos Reis – Ilha Grande (95km – 1h30)

Day 13Ilha Grande

Boat excursion departing from Cais da Vila do Abraão to discover some of Ilha Grande’s most beautiful sites.
