Itinerary
- Day 1: Montréal – Lima
Flight to Lima.
- Day 2: Lima
Arrive at the airport and transfer to the hotel (room available on arrival). Spend the morning as you please, then enjoy a welcome lunch at the Huaca Pucllana restaurant, followed by a visit to the archaeological site. In the late afternoon, stroll through the Barranco district if you like, then enjoy dinner on your own. Britania Crystal Collection Hotel 3* (B-L)
- Day 3: Lima – Arequipa
Visit the Miraflores district and Parque del Amor overlooking the Pacific, then head to the city centre to explore colonial Lima, including Plaza San Martín and Plaza de Armas. Tour the Convent of San Francisco and its catacombs, followed by a visit to the Larco Museum and lunch in its beautiful gardens. Transfer to the airport and fly to Arequipa. - Day 4: Arequipa
Discover the San Camilo market, then tour the Church of the Company of Jesus and the Santa Catalina Monastery. Free time in the afternoon. In the evening, enjoy a dinner of local specialties at a fine-dining restaurant.(B-D)
- Day 5: Arequipa – Chivay – Colca (170km)
Travel through a national camelid reserve to observe animals in their natural habitat. Counter the effects of the altitude with herbal tea made from three plants, then continue on to Chivay for lunch. Check in at the hotel and enjoy free time to visit the hot springs. - Day 6: Colca – Condor’s Cross – Puno (300km)
Follow the scenic route along the Colca Canyon. Stop at Condor’s Cross to see the Andean condor, the largest flying bird in the world. Have lunch at a local restaurant, then continue on to Puno. Spend the evening as you please. José Antonio Puno Hotel 4* (B-L)
- Day 7: Puno – Lake Titicaca – Uros Islands – Taquile Island – Puno
Transfer by tuk-tuk to the port of Puno. Cruise Lake Titicaca to the Uros floating islands. Spend time meeting the locals. Continue on to Taquile Island, known for its handwoven textiles. Take a leisurely climb along a footpath to admire the blue lake and blue sky, with the snowy peaks of Bolivia’s majestic Cordillera Real in the background. Enjoy a traditional lunch in the community and return to Puno for an Andean dinner show. (B-L-D)
- Day 8: Puno – Cuzco (390km)
Head to Cuzco. Stop at La Raya Pass, the highest point along the route. Have lunch at a restaurant then visit the village of Checacupe and discover an ancient Inca rope bridge. Tour the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas” in Andahuaylillas and continue to Cuzco. Check in and have dinner at the hotel. Los Portales Hotel Cuzco 3* (B-L-D)
- Day 9: Cuzco
Stroll through the district of San Blas, one of Cuzco’s traditional neighbourhoods and known for its many artisans. Visit Plaza de Armas and the Temple of the Sun. Lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Cuzco’s four archaeological sites: Tambomachay, Puca Pucara, Qenqo, and Sacsayhuaman. Enjoy dinner on your own. (B-L)
- Day 10: Cuzco – Sacred Valley - Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes (150km)
Transfer towards the Sacred Valley for a visit to the archaeological site of Pisac, followed by free time in the market. Head to the hotel in the Sacred Valley to leave your bags in storage until your return late tomorrow afternoon; a small backpack is required for the overnight stay and the excursion to Machu Picchu. On-site, you will attend a purification ceremony performed by a shaman, followed by an ancestral Andean lunch: the famous Pachamanca, cooked underground. Departure to Ollantaytambo to visit its Inca fortress, with its stone terraces, spectacular views, and fascinating history. Transfer to Ollantaytambo station, take the train to Aguas Calientes, and check in at the hotel. El Mapi Hotel by Inkaterra 4* (B-L-D)
- Day 11: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Sacred Valley (70 km)
Take a guided tour of the mysterious Machu Picchu site, then have lunch at a local restaurant. Take the train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, then transfer to the Sacred Valley. Return and dinner at the hotel. Ava Valle Sagrado Spot 3* (B-L-D)
- Day 12: Sacred Valley
Enjoy a free day in the Sacred Valley or take an optional excursion to Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain ($). (B-D)
- Day 13: Sacred Valley – Moray – Maras salt pans - Cuzco (70km)
Discovery of the fascinating sites of Moray and Maras, located in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit the Moray site, with its impressive circular terraces used by the Incas as an agricultural laboratory to experiment with different crops according to microclimates. Continue to the famous Maras salt pans, a spectacular complex of thousands of salt pools exploited since pre-Columbian times. The day continues in the Andean community of Misminay, where you will share a traditional lunch prepared with local products. Take part in a demonstration of ancestral weaving, during which the locals will present techniques and symbols passed down from generation to generation, offering an authentic immersion into the living culture of the Peruvian Andes. - Day 14: Cuzco
In the morning, delve into Peruvian cuisine. Alongside experienced chefs, learn how to cook Peruvian dishes with local ingredients. Then, join in a pisco workshop to learn how to make a famous pisco sour. Spend the afternoon as you please. In the evening, enjoy a dinner show at the Tunupa restaurant. (B-L-D)
- Day 15: Cuzco – Lima
Spend the day at leisure then transfer to the airport to fly to Lima. Transfer to the hotel. Holiday Inn Lima Airport 4* (B)
