Day 1Montréal – Lima

Fly to Lima.


Day 2Lima

Arrive at the airport and transfer to the hotel (room available on arrival). Spend the morning as you please, then enjoy a welcome lunch at the Huaca Pucllana restaurant, followed by a visit to the archaeological site. Day 3Lima – Arequipa

Visit the Miraflores district and Parque del Amor overlooking the Pacific, then head to the city centre to explore the colonial part of Lima, including Plaza San Martín and Plaza de Armas. Tour the Convent of San Francisco and the catacombs, then visit the Larco Museum, followed by lunch in the exquisite gardens. Transfer to the airport and fly to Arequipa. Day 4Arequipa

Day 5Arequipa – Chivay - Colca (170km)

Travel through a national camelid reserve to observe animals in their natural habitat. Counter the effects of the altitude with herbal tea made from three plants, then continue on to Chivay for lunch. Day 6Colca – Condor's Cross – Puno (300km)

Day 7Puno – Lake Titicaca – Uros Islands – Taquile Island – Puno

Transfer by tuk-tuk to the port of Puno. Cruise Lake Titicaca to the Uros floating islands. Spend time meeting the locals. Continue on to Taquile Island, known for its handwoven textiles. Take a leisurely climb along a footpath to admire the blue lake and blue sky, with the snowy peaks of Bolivia’s majestic Cordillera Real in the background. Enjoy a traditional lunch in the community and return to Puno for an Andean dinner show. (B-L-D)

Day 8Puno – Cuzco (390km)

Head to Cuzco. Stop at La Raya Pass, the highest point along the route. Have lunch at a restaurant then visit the village of Checacupe and discover an ancient Inca rope bridge. Day 9Cuzco

Stroll through the district of San Blas, one of Cuzco’s traditional neighbourhoods and known for its many artisans. Visit Plaza de Armas and the Temple of the Sun. Lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Cuzco’s four archaeological sites: Tambomachay, Puca Pucara, Qenqo, and Sacsayhuaman. Enjoy dinner on your own. (B-L)

Day 10Cuzco – Sacred Valley – Chinchero – Maras salt pans – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes (80km)

Head to the Sacred Valley and stop at the hotel to drop off your bags until you return at the end of the following day. Bring a small backpack for one night and the excursion to Machu Picchu. Travel to the viewpoint in Chinchero, then meet local textile artisans. Continue to Maras, where 5,000 salt pans sparkle in the sun, then have lunch at a local restaurant. Leave for Ollantaytambo to tour the Inca fortress with its stone terraces, spectacular views, and fascinating history. Day 11Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Sacred Valley
