Head to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a non-profit sanctuary dedicated to preserving local wildlife through conservation, education, research, and quality animal care. Free time for lunch. Head north, with a stop at the Eklutna Village to learn about Athabascan Indigenous heritage. Continue to Big Lake to visit the kennels run by Iditarod champion Martin Buser. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the famous race and pet the young huskies. Return to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day as you please. (B)
