Itinerary
- Day 1 : Montreal – Havre-aux-Maisons – Grande-Entrée
Flight to the Magdalen Islands. Transfer to Auberge La Salicorne and check in for the next five nights. Beach hike on Grande-Échouerie, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world according to National Geographic. Enjoy drinks and a four-course Madelinot dinner at the inn. Auberge La Salicorne 3* (D)
- Day 2: Grande-Entrée
For early risers, head to the wharf to witness the departure of the lobster fishing fleet—an unforgettable experience! Return to the inn for a bit more rest. Visit Grande-Entrée and its harbor, the largest lobster fishing port in Eastern Canada. Stop by the wharf for an oyster tasting with a local producer. In the afternoon, meet a fisherman from Grande-Entrée and learn more about this profession, which is vital to the islands’ economy. Enjoy a table d’hôte dinner featuring lobster as the highlight. - Day 3: Grande-Entrée – Havre-Aubert – Cap-aux-Meules – L’Étang-du-Nord – Grande-Entrée
Travel to Havre-Aubert Island for a guided tour of the historic site of La Grave. Hike up the Demoiselles hills for a breathtaking view of Entry Island. Lunch at Café de la Grave, followed by a visit to Cap-aux-Meules and L’Étang-du-Nord: lookout point, coastal site, Borgot lighthouse, and local shops. Stop at a local island producer. Return to Grande-Entrée, then enjoy a table d’hôte dinner at the inn. (B-L-D)
- Day 4: Grande-Entrée - Grosse-île
Visit the Old Harry Heritage Site and the former St. Peter’s-by-the-Sea Church, now transformed into a memorial space honouring shipwreck victims of the islands. Stop at the Maison du Potier. After lunch, hike on Boudreau Island, a protected natural site where it is possible to discover samphire, a surprising coastal plant. Continue with a guided visit of the Seal Interpretation Centre to learn more about seals and better understand the controversies surrounding them. End the day with a four-course seal-based dinner at the inn. (B-L-D)
- Day 5: Grande-Entrée – Havre-aux-Maisons – Grande-Entrée
Travel to Havre-aux-Maisons for a visit to the Fumoir d’Antan and the Pied-de-Vent cheese dairy. Stop at Dune du Sud, known for its striking red cliffs, and at Cap Alright Lighthouse (also known as Julie’s Lighthouse). Lunch at the inn. Take a short walk along the trail in front of the inn toward Bassin aux Huîtres for a clay mask experience. Enjoy a table d’hôte dinner at the inn, accompanied by a local singer performing songs from the Islands and beyond. (B-L-D)
- Day 6: Grande-Entrée – Grosse-Île – Montréal
Tour of Grosse-Île, including the fishing harbour and Holy Trinity Church with its distinctive stained-glass window. Lunch at the inn. Transfer to the airport for departure. Return flight to Montreal. (B-L)
