Day 1Heraklion

Arrive at the Heraklion airport and transfer to the hotel. Olympic Hotel Heraklion 3* or similar (D)

Day 2Heraklion – Elounda – Ágios Nikólaos – Heraklion (150km)

In the morning, head to the east of the island. After arriving in Elounda, embark on a peaceful cruise through the Gulf of Mirabello around the island of Spinalonga. Return to Elounda for some free time to swim, relax, and explore the village. In the early afternoon, depart for the beautiful town of Ágios Nikólaos for a guided tour and free time. At the end of the day, return to Heraklion. (B-D)

Day 3Heraklion – Arólithos – Axós – Anógia – Heraklion (90km)

Set out to discover the wild side of Crete. Head for Mount Psiloritis, the island’s highest peak, offering breathtaking views. Stop at the traditional village of Arólithos, an authentic Cretan village with charming stone houses. Continue to the famous Sfendóni cave, known for its spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. Next it’s off to the charming village of Axós. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, depart for Anógia. (B-D)

Day 4Heraklion – Knossós – Archanés – Zarós (70km)

Visit Crete’s largest Minoan site, the palace of Knossós, whose ruins were discovered in 1878. Continue to the town of Archanés. In the afternoon, proceed to Zarós, famous for its spring water and manmade lake. Day 5Zarós – Phaistós – Spíli – Argoúpoli – Chaniá (150km)

In the morning, visit to the Minoan Palace of Phaistós, offering magnificent views of Mount Psiloritis. Continue to Spíli to see its famous Venetian fountain with lion-head spouts. Stop at Argoúpoli, renowned for its natural springs. After lunch, head to Chaniá, a vibrant and unique destination. Day 6Chaniá – Zonianá – Arádaina – Chaniá (195km)

Depart for the island’s southwest coast. Arrive in Zonianá and explore this charming coastal village, famed for its picturesque little harbour, traditional tavernas, and authentic atmosphere. Continue to Frangokástello, a seaside village with sun-drenched beaches. Enjoy some free time to have lunch before then heading up toward the villages of Anópolis and Arádaina, crossing the famous bridge overlooking the Arádaina Gorge. Return to Chaniá in the late afternoon for dinner at a taverna near the Venetian port. (B-D)

Day 7Chaniá – Kournás – Réthymno – Heraklion (150km)

In the morning, visit an oil mill and enjoy an olive oil tasting. Afterward, stop at Lake Kournás, the only freshwater lake in the region. Continue on to Réthymno, Crete’s third-largest city, where the architecture reveals a rich and storied past. After a city tour, take some free time for lunch.
