How does it work?

Battery Service is a specialized team from our Roadside Assistance network. Aboard their mobile unit, our Battery Service patrollers drive to where your vehicle is. They can do 3 things for you: boost, check, and replace your battery. You don’t even need to leave your home or workplace!

Benefits and conditions

Is your battery dead? A patroller will come to your vehicle to recharge your battery. A boost counts as one of your Roadside Assistance service calls.

Want to know if your battery is at risk of failure? A patroller will come and assess the condition of your battery and charging system (starter and alternator). You will even receive a detailed report by email. This test counts as one of your Roadside Assistance service calls.

Does your battery need to be replaced? A patroller can install a CAA Battery for you immediately.1 You’ll have to pay for the battery, but it won’t count as a Roadside Assistance service call,2 even if you originally called for a boost or test.

Unfortunately, not all vehicles are eligible for roadside battery testing and installation service. Moreover, please note that Battery Service is not available in all regions of Quebec. So, what can you do? Make an appointment with a CAA Battery Service location!

Your advantage? You benefit from the exclusive member price on a CAA Battery! You will, however, have to pay for battery testing and installation.

Tips for extending your battery’s lifespan

If you don’t drive much

  • Use a battery charger.
  • The first time you start the car each day, let the engine run for a few minutes before driving off.
  • Have your battery checked twice a year and charge it as needed.

During cold weather

  • Plug in the block heater.
  • Drive for at least 20 minutes after your vehicle’s first start-up of the day.

* Roadside battery installation and testing service may be interrupted without notice due to weather conditions or any situation beyond our control.
