Exclusive electric models to test-drive at the Montreal International Auto Show 2024 thanks to CAA-Quebec

Published on January 19, 2024

Marvelling at the new electric vehicles exhibited at the 2024 Montreal International Auto Show (MIAS) is all well and good, but actually getting to drive them is the real deal! And that’s what CAA-Quebec is bringing to you with its electric vehicle road tests at the Montréal Convention Centre, from January 19 to 28.

This year, CAA-Quebec will be introducing visitors to 12 electric vehicle (EV) models of various sizes, makes and prices. These road tests are being made possible thanks to the financial support of Running Electric and MIAS, while charging stations are being graciously provided by Leviton.

Worldwide demand for EVs is as strong as ever: as soon as they land in dealerships, these vehicles sell like hotcakes. Whether customers are in the middle of a shopping spree, or simply curious to learn more about EVs, the MIAS is the perfect place to test-drive and compare them. Meanwhile, a team of CAA-Quebec automotive specialists will be attending the show to answer visitors’ questions.

“A majority of the models on test this year will be exclusive newcomers. Consumers will be able to try out these state-of-the-art vehicles on a route spanning only a few kilometres in downtown Montréal.”

—Jesse Caron, CAA-Quebec Automotive Expert

MIAS is the perfect place for shoppers to see and touch any and all vehicles they’re interested in, and this without the sales pressure typically associated with a trip to the dealership. 16 vehicles from 12 different models will be available to the public on a “first come, first served” basis.

Which models to try out?

Several new releases will be available for test drives on the streets of Montréal:

  • Cadillac LYRIQ
  • Ford F-150 Lightning
  • Ford Mustang MACH-E
  • Genesis Electrified GV70
  • Hyundai IONIQ 6
  • Hyundai KONA Electric
  • Kia EV6
  • Kia EV9
  • Lexus RZ 450e
  • Nissan ARIYA
  • Toyota bZ4X
  • VinFast VF8

Test drives are open to people aged 25 and over with a valid driver’s licence. Journalists can also get a taste of electric mobility (see Information section further down). Full details of available models, schedule and test location can be found on the CAA-Quebec’s website.
