CAA-Quebec stepped up to the plate throughout the holidays as the year began in frigid fashion
The holiday season and the last few days have been marked by adverse weather and especially by extreme cold, prompting a high demand for our Roadside Assistance service. Thanks to the dedication of our teams, our members were provided with timely and safe assistance, despite challenging conditions and a surge in requests.
As statistics show, it was a particularly busy period for our teams throughout the holiday season. “Not a single day was below our seasonal averages for our teams during the holiday season. We must highlight the tremendous work done by all our colleagues,” points out Pierre-Serge Labbé, Vice President, Mobility Services. “We are very proud of this and, above all, grateful for the trust our members have placed in us.”
Highlights from December 22, 2025, to January 5, 2026:
38,322 services provided compared to 28,746 for the same period last year (+33.3%)
14,759 battery boosts compared to 7545 last year (+95.6%)
Average wait time for all services: 59 minutes
1115 batteries replaced through Battery Service

“Our patrollers have been working tirelessly to answer calls across Quebec. Their priority remains the safety of our members and the reliability of our response, even during periods of high demand due to extreme cold.”

Tips for motorists
In order to avoid unpleasant surprises during periods of freezing weather, it is highly recommended to have your battery tested before winter arrives and to replace it if it has reached the end of its useful life. This service is one of the benefits available to all CAA-Quebec members. In addition, when temperatures drop below -15°C, using an engine block heater is advised. This will make it easier to start the vehicle and will also speed up the warming of the engine and interior. All in all, this results in greater comfort and lower fuel consumption.
