Boeing 737 MAX aircraft grounded - CAA-Quebec welcomes prudent decision by Transport Canada
CAA-Quebec Travel welcomes Transport Canada’s decision to close Canadian skies to Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 9 planes, a sound precaution that will reassure Canadian travellers.
“Air travel is an extremely safe means of transportation, but passengers need to be absolutely sure of that when they board an aircraft,” said Philippe Blain, Vice President, Travel Services at CAA-Quebec. “In the case of the Boeing 737 MAX, legitimate doubts have arisen in the wake of the two recent tragedies. Minister Marc Garneau’s decision to ground these planes until more is known is the right one.”
CAA-Quebec believes travellers’ safety and security must remain priority number one.
“Although replacing these aircraft may pose logistical challenges, we are confident carriers will do their best to minimize the impact of this prudent decision,” said Mr. Blain.
Employees at CAA-Quebec’s 14 Travel Centres will spare no effort to ensure their clients fly with confidence, and to minimize any inconvenience caused by this measure.
