227 newborns safely restrained by the CAA-Quebec Foundation

For a second year, the CAA-Quebec Foundation is pursuing its commitment to the community by donating 227 newborn car seats to families in need. Ensuring the proper installation and use of child car seats has long been one of the Foundation’s goals.

First launched in 2022 in 3 regions of Quebec, with the help of Centraide and Evenflo Canada, the initiative was expanded this year. Altogether, 50 organizations linked to Centraide Québec et Chaudière-Appalaches, Centraide Bas-St-Laurent, and now Centraide of Greater Montreal, have received seats which will then be redistributed to families in need.

Supporting families, one seat at a time

The launch event for the Greater Montreal area was held on November 9. Partners and guests gathered at Escale Famille le Triolet, an organization whose mission is to promote children’s overall development by supporting parents in fulfilling their role as educators. “This lovely project will enable some fifteen agencies, supported by Centraide of Greater Montreal, to distribute car seats as gifts or loans to parents to properly protect their children. The economic crisis has driven many families into poverty, who are in need of a helping hand to meet their needs. Family organizations are there to guide and support them. For this reason, donations such as the one announced today are important,” says Claude Pinard, President and Executive Director of Centraide of Greater Montreal.

Committed to the community

This initiative originated as part of our ongoing road safety mission, with the aim of alleviating the many expenses associated with the arrival of a new child. In these times when inflation is rampant, and many families have to make heartbreaking choices between their children’s basic needs, doing our part to support them becomes all the more important.

“It’s in CAA-Quebec’s DNA to contribute to a better road safety, a commitment that requires concrete gestures. With initiatives such as these, one child at a time, we can make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of families.”

Last but not least, CAA-Quebec’s Mobility Advisory Services are always ready to answer any questions you may have about child car seats, whether you are a member or not.
