Things are going to be electric in May...and CAA-Quebec is along for the ride!

The Montreal Electric Vehicle Show (MEVS), to be held May 3–5, 2019, at Place Bonaventure, is a unique opportunity to explore all things electric mobility under one roof.

New this year in Montreal, thanks to a partnership with CAA-Quebec, MEVS visitors can park for free 2 km from Place Bonaventure (at Casino de Montréal parking lot P10) and take the Keolis 100% electric shuttle bus to the show. It will be a great chance to try out electric transport and avoid that irksome parking expense. See the general information page of the website for more info.

And because the resounding success of MEVS snowballed in 2017 and 2018, with nearly 25,000 visitors last year alone, a first-ever Quebec Electric Vehicle Show (QEVS) will be held May 24–26, 2019, at ExpoCité’s Centre de foires exhibit space. “After testing the waters with the EV show in Montreal, we decided we had to come to Quebec City to reach an even larger pool of potential electric motorists,” said Luc Saumure, co-founder of the Electric Vehicle Shows.

CAA-Quebec lends a hand

As a proud electric mobility ambassador, CAA-Quebec will be at both shows alongside some 130 exhibitors. We look forward to meeting our members and other attendees.

CAA-Quebec members will even enjoy a special offer: a $5 discount on the cost of admission. Read the conditions to take advantage of the offer.

“CAA-Quebec has been helping develop and promote the electrification of vehicles from the very beginning, so naturally we will be at both shows. But even more than that, we will continue to pursue our mission in more concrete ways by helping consumers navigate the terrain of electric mobility,” says Pierre-Serge Labbé, CAA-Quebec Vice President, Automotive Services.

Toward that mission, CAA-Quebec will have a booth at Place Bonaventure and the Centre de foires. Stop by to learn more about eco-driving and chat with our auto counsellors, who can shed some light on EVs and charging stations. You can also discover (or rediscover) the Hyundai IONIQ Electric, which CAA-Quebec uses to provide mobile electric vehicle charging on the road. A first in Canada!

True or false?

CAA-Quebec will give the presentation Le VÉ à la portée de tous: mythe ou réalité? at both shows this year. “It’s important to try to set the record straight, dispel misconceptions, and put things in perspective, as too many motorists have yet to embrace EVs because they’re misinformed. For others, the presentation will be an opportunity to get up to date on electric vehicle technologies, which are evolving at a dizzying rate,” said Mr. Labbé.
