More than 4,000 people test drive EVs at the Montreal and Quebec City Auto Shows
CAA-Quebec’s electric vehicle (EV) test drives drew even bigger crowds in 2020 than they did in 2019. A total of nearly 4,100 people test drove EVs at the Montreal Auto Show in January and the Quebec City show in March. That’s a 2% increase over 2019, which shows just how eager the public is to learn more about electric cars, almost a decade after the first models arrived on the Quebec market.
In cooperation with Transition énergétique Québec, FLO, Running Electric, and the Montreal International Auto Show, CAA-Quebec offered attendees the chance to explore 11 all-electric or plug-in hybrid models during the event.
CAA-Quebec also presented a daily talk on EV myths and realities in the Auto Show’s Electric Zone. After the talks, experts answered attendees’ questions and invited them to check out CAA-Quebec’s mobile charging vehicle, a service offered exclusively to members in Canada.
At the Quebec City International Auto Show, which was also an event partner, visitors could choose among ten of the market’s most popular electric models. Every test drive taken in both cities was accompanied by a professional guide trained by CAA-Quebec, who could answer drivers’ questions and provide additional information.
The test route, which covered 3.1km in Montreal and 5.1km in Quebec City, gave drivers the chance to test vehicles in real-life local winter conditions. It was the perfect way to reassure skeptics about the comfort and drive capabilities of EVs in our part of the world!
