Montréal-Trudeau International Airport: Getting ready for the closure of the multi-level parking lot
As of November 1, 2025, a new chapter will begin at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) with the closure of the Multi-Level Parking, which will no longer be accessible. Dismantling this parking facility will allow for the addition of lanes to the existing drop-off areas in front of the terminal and, in time, improve traffic flow on the site.
In the meantime, all travellers have to exercise patience and, most importantly, get all the info they need before heading to the airport for their flight. CAA-Quebec strongly advises allowing more time than usual to get there, on top of the time needed to go through security and customs, when required.
Users who choose to travel by car are also encouraged to reserve their parking space online before arriving at the airport, as the number of spaces on the airport grounds will be limited.
Useful options for travellers
CAA-Quebec advises travellers to check the airport website at all times for the most up-to-date information. Various transportation options are listed there, whether you are travelling to or from the airport. This includes information on car rentals, taxis, accessible taxis, and carpooling services.
It is also possible to travel to and from the airport on regional shuttles from a number of cities and towns, similar to the service offered by some hotels around YUL. A free shuttle also connects the Dorval VIA Rail station to the airport.
Parking available
CAA-Quebec members are entitled to a 10% discount on the standard rate at all Montréal-Trudeau International Airport parking facilities when booking online prior to departure. The offer is valid for all reservations of at least 48 hours.
The airport website provides an overview of the number of spaces available in each parking lot, as well as the rates that apply. A 40-minute free parking period is in effect in some parking facilities, after which standard rates apply.
There are also various private parking services around the airport. Some hotels may also allow guests to park their cars for a few days, either free of charge or for a fee.
Public transport
The 747 bus line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are two routes available: a short one linking Lionel-Groulx station and the airport, and a slightly longer one linking the Gare d’autocars de Montréal (Berri-UQAM station) and the airport. The short route takes about 30 to 35 minutes, while the long route makes 11 stops and can take 45 to 70 minutes.
The $11.25 per person fare covers a pass for buses, subways, Exo trains, and REM trains in Zone A (Greater Montréal Area) for 24 hours.
Drop-off and pick-up zones for passengers
Montréal Airport has set up two Express Drop-off Zones, located at P4 and P10, which are free, accessible 7 days a week, and open from 1p.m. to 8p.m. A frequent shuttle service provides transportation in approximately five minutes via a dedicated route.
For drivers picking up passengers, it is strongly recommended that you wait in the CellParc and then pick them up at a specific gate. It is also strictly forbidden to park in drop-off zones, with a towing policy in place for drivers who park in prohibited areas.
