Have your EV inspected at the Montreal and Quebec City electric vehicle shows

Published on September 3, 2021

Do you own an electric vehicle (EV)? Take advantage of the upcoming Electric & Plug-In Hybrid Vehicle Show to have your car inspected at CAA-Quebec’s EV health clinic, which will be held during the event at both ends of Highway 40.

During the Montreal Electric and Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle Show, CAA-Quebec’s expert technicians will welcome EV owners from September 17 to 19 at the Olympic Park Esplanade. They will repeat the experience from October 1 to 3 at Quebec City’s Centre de foires. Both events will require proof of vaccination and the wearing of a mask.

Visitors can obtain a pass to the clinic by going to CAA-Quebec’s booth. Once they have obtained their pass, they will have to go to the designated area to have their electric or hybrid vehicle inspected. The inspection will take 15 to 30 minutes and includes an analysis of the battery and electric engine control modules, which may reveal error codes that have not yet triggered the check engine warning light. For hybrid vehicles (plug-in or not), the analysis will also apply to the emissions control system, as is the case for any model with a gasoline engine.

Many prizes to be won

Visitors to CAA-Quebec’s indoor booth will also be able to participate in a fun and rewarding electromobility contest. They will learn more about our products and services for EV drivers by following a trail set up in the booth. They will also find answers to the three contest questions. Prizes include a charging station, five annual memberships, and ten smart chargers!

Experts in transportation electrification will be on hand to answer questions from the public regarding EVs. Our automobile expert, Jesse Caron, will give two talks every day on myths and facts about EVs as well as practical advice about buying used EVs. Daniel Fortier, CAA-Quebec’s road safety veteran and EV owner, will discuss eco-driving and vehicle autonomy issues with visitors.
