Actual EVs to try for real at the Quebec City Auto Show!

Are you among the many motorists who placed an order for an electric vehicle (EV) without having tried it or even seen it up close? Or are you just starting to consider an electrified car to replace your aging car? In both cases, be sure to attend the Quebec City International Auto Show (SIAQ) so you can drive one of the nine models brought together for you by CAA-Quebec!

Made possible thanks to the participation of Running Electric, in collaboration with the SIAQ, CAA-Quebec’s electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle road tests offer a rare opportunity to see, touch and experience some of today’s most exciting new electrified models. Visitors to the SIAQ from now through March 12 at ExpoCité’s Centre de foires can try one of the following models for free:

  • Cadillac Lyriq
  • Chevrolet Bolt EV
  • Chevrolet Bolt EUV
  • Hyundai IONIQ 5
  • Kia EV6
  • Kia Niro EV
  • Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
  • Nissan ARIYA
  • Toyota bZ4X

Tests will take place on a 5.1km track including both urban and highway sections around the ExpoCité site. An attendant trained by CAA-Quebec will be there in the car to guide you and answer any questions you may have about the vehicle itself or about the experience of driving an EV.

All you need is to be at least 25 years old and have a valid driver’s licence to reserve your place behind the wheel. Registration is done on the same day and timeslots for some models fill up quickly; first come, first served!
Expert advisors from the organization are also available at the registration booth to inform visitors about all the aspects of owning an electrified model, from winter use to government subsidies or charging options. The test vehicles are powered daily by charging stations kindly provided by Leviton, who offers CAA-Quebec members a $100 discount on selected charging stations.

Highly popular tests in Montreal

Many people were delighted with the return of CAA-Quebec’s EV road tests at the Montreal International Auto Show this past January. More than 3,000 show attendees hopped into one of the EVs graciously provided by the manufacturers during the 10-day event. The schedule for most of the proposed models did not falter despite the occurrence of a few storms and the sometimes heavy traffic around the Palais des congrès de Montréal (Montreal Convention Centre).

Next stop: the Montreal Electric & Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle Show

Slightly more than a month after the SIAQ’s conclusion, CAA-Quebec will hit the 40 West to attend the Montreal Electric and Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle Show. From April 21 to 23, our team will greet you at its booth to introduce you to the world of EVs and the services offered to members who drive an electrified model.

Moreover, our auto experts, Maxime Dubois and Jesse Caron, will deliver a very practical conference each day about used electric vehicles. For the first time, they will also invite visitors to a second conference consisting of a 30-minute Q&A session where their questions will be the focus of the discussion!
