Frequently asked questions about telemedicine and Dialogue’s services

CAA-Quebec is evolving its assistance offering to better support its members in their daily lives. The goal is to give you even more peace of mind with telemedicine. However, CAA-Quebec does not provide any medical care. Care is handled entirely by Dialogue, a recognized leader in virtual health care. Telemedicine is a complement to the public health care system, not a replacement for its services.

Dialogue Health Technologies Inc. is a virtual health care company based in Montréal. It is a Canadian leader in this field. Its platform lets you consult a team of health care professionals remotely, including doctors and nurses. The team provides your care and supports you throughout your health journey, in complete confidentiality.

Dialogue’s support team can help. Here are 3 ways to get answers to your questions:

To protect your personal and confidential information, support for your account and telemedicine services is handled entirely by Dialogue. The CAA-Quebec team does not have access to your account or your medical information.

To protect your privacy, our employees do not have access to your account or your medical information. This means they can’t create or manage your account for you.

Need a hand creating your account or using the telemedicine services? Dialogue’s support team is here to help. Email support@dialogue.co or use the chat.

The service is available to you as the primary CAA Premier or CAA Premier RV member. Your spouse and your dependants can also use it, even if they don’t hold a CAA Premier or CAA Premier RV membership themselves.

Eligible dependants must:

  • be your children or the children of your spouse;
  • be under 21, or under 26 if they are full-time students;
  • not be married or in a legally recognized union;
  • live with you or live near their educational institution.

Your spouse is eligible if:

  • you are married or in another form of legally recognized union; or
  • you have been in a common-law relationship for at least 12 months.

Only one person can be recognized as your spouse. In the case of a common-law relationship, your partner is no longer eligible for the service if you stop living together.

You have access to telemedicine for as long as you are a CAA Premier or CAA Premier RV member. If your membership ends or you switch to another type of membership, you lose access to telemedicine (as well as access to the other benefits exclusive to these memberships).

The Dialogue team can assess many non-urgent health issues that don’t require a physical exam. For example: cold, sinusitis, allergies, sore throat, minor skin conditions, pink eye, urinary tract infection, or minor injury. They can also offer advice, provide follow-up, and renew certain prescriptions when appropriate. If you need in-person care, Dialogue will direct you to a suitable resource.

No. You and your family members can contact the Dialogue team as often as needed.

Telemedicine services are included in your membership. There are no additional fees to use them.

Please note: some allied health services offered through the Dialogue platform are not included, such as those of psychologists, psychotherapists, and dieticians. If you want to access these services, you will have to pay a fee. Dialogue will let you know when a service has a cost.

You have access to Dialogue services anywhere in Canada. Certain medical procedures, diagnoses, and prescriptions cannot be provided to you while you are outside of Canada. However, when you are abroad, the Dialogue team can still give you advice and direct you to an appropriate resource, such as a clinic or hospital.

Yes. Your interactions with the Dialogue team and your health information remain confidential. CAA-Quebec does not have access to your medical record or to the content of your consultations. To learn more about how your information is protected, please consult Dialogue’s Privacy Policy.

You can simply become a CAA Premier or CAA Premier RV member. Here is how to do it based on your situation.

  • Already a member? You can upgrade to a CAA Premier or CAA Premier RV membership, even during your current coverage period. Call us at 1-800-686-9243 to find out about applicable fees.

To protect the confidentiality of your personal and health information, registration for Dialogue must be completed directly by each member. CAA-Quebec advisors cannot create or manage your account on your behalf and do not have access to your medical information.
