Basic coverage
If the insured person passes away as a result of an accident covered by the policy, their designated beneficiaries will receive a financial benefit.
The amount of coverage varies according to the type of transportation.
Airliner on scheduled flight*: up to $500,000
Public conveyance*: up to $200,000
Passenger vehicle, pleasure craft, off-road vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian**: up to $200,000
* Benefits payable for an accident on board a scheduled airline flight or public transportation are reduced to 75% of the amount of coverage starting at age 85. This reduction in coverage does not result in a lower premium.
** Benefits payable for an accident on board a passenger vehicle, pleasure craft, off-road vehicle, bicycle or as a pedestrian are reduced to 25% of the amount of coverage starting at age 70, and to 15% starting at age 85. This reduction in coverage does not result in a lower premium.
This protection covers the insured person if, as the result of an accident, they suffer one or more of the following consequences: dismemberment, loss of use of limbs, loss of sight, or loss of hearing.

This coverage is designed to help the insured meet the high costs associated with quadriplegia, paraplegia or hemiplegia following a transport accident. The amount offered could, for instance, help with home modifications or the purchase of specialized equipment.

This insurance covers costs incurred for the rehabilitation of the insured person following a transport accident. These include physiotherapy, specialized medical consultations, and the purchase or rental of orthopedic appliances.
Maximum amount of coverage is $25,000 per accident.
This coverage is designed to help an insured person afford an artificial limb, hearing aid, eye prosthesis or any other prosthesis prescribed by a physician following an accident.
Maximum amount of coverage is $2500.
This coverage reimburses up to $10,000 for transportation costs to bring a close family member to the hospitalized insured person in the event of an accident.
Expenses incurred by this person with a licensed public conveyance by the most direct route are covered, or those incurred if the trip is made in a passenger vehicle.
The insurer will reimburse the person who incurred the costs related to cremation, burial or funeral services.
Maximum amount of coverage is $5000.
The insurer will reimburse the cost of preparing the body for burial or cremation if the insured person dies in an accident. It will also reimburse the cost of repatriating the body to its city of residence.
Maximum amount of coverage is $15,000.
Additional coverage and options
This coverage is exclusive to CAA-Quebec members.
The insured person is provided with up to $15,000 to convert their home and vehicle following a permanent injury that results in the use of a wheelchair.
This benefit is exclusive to CAA-Quebec members.
Members are entitled to an additional 10% compensation if the seatbelt was fastened or the airbag deployed at the time of the insured person’s death in a car accident.

Of course! In the event of death or loss of use of a member, benefits will be paid to you or your family, even if you have coverage with other insurers, such as the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) in the case of a car accident.
In addition, you may be eligible for reimbursement of certain expenses not covered (or only partially covered) by your group insurance.
