Basic coverage

If the insured person passes away as a result of an accident covered by the policy, their designated beneficiaries will receive a financial benefit. 

Amounts vary according to the option chosen: 

  • Up to $100,000 with option 1   

  • Up to $200,000 with option 2 

This protection covers the insured person if, as a result of an accident, they suffer one or more of the following consequences: loss of use of limbs, loss of sight, loss of hearing, quadriplegia, paraplegia or hemiplegia.   

Amount of coverage varies according to the option chosen: 

  • Up to $100,000 with option 1   

  • Up to $200,000 with option 2 

This protection covers fractures resulting from an accident: fractures of the skull, spine, jaw, pelvis, hip, patella, shoulder blade, forearm, etc. 

Amount of coverage varies according to the option chosen: 

  • Up to $100,000 with option 1   

  • Up to $200,000 with option 2

This protection covers complete dislocation (luxation) resulting from an accident: dislocation of the hip, knee, shoulder, wrist, ankle, etc. 

Amount of coverage varies according to the option chosen: 

  • Up to $420 with option 1    

  • Up to $840 with option 2

This coverage provides reimbursement for the treatment or replacement, in Canada, of a healthy, natural tooth that has been broken as a result of an accident. It also covers the repair or replacement of dental prostheses. 

Amount of coverage varies according to the option chosen: 

  • Up to $500 with option 1  

  • Up to $1000 with option 2

In the event of an accident, this coverage reimburses these paramedical expenses in Canada: 

  • Private nursing care, ambulance transportation, “semi-private” room (up to $5000) 

  • Occupational therapy, chiropractic and physiotherapy (up to $500) 

  • Purchase or rental of splints, hearing aids, casts, crutches, wheelchairs, etc.

This coverage is designed to help an insured person afford an artificial limb, hearing aid, eye prosthesis or any other prosthesis prescribed by a physician following an accident.   

Maximum amount of coverage is $2500.

This coverage reimburses up to $25,000 for services such as: 

  • Vocational assessments 

  • Vocational training 

  • Employment reintegration programs  

  • Vocational retraining aids  

The purpose is to help the insured person, following an accident, to return to a professional activity that is adapted to their new abilities, or to retrain in a field that is suitable for their state of health, in order to promote their financial independence and well-being.

The insurer will reimburse the person who incurred the costs related to cremation, burial or funeral services. 

Maximum amount of coverage is $5000.

The insurer will reimburse the cost of preparing the body for burial or cremation if the insured person dies in an accident. It will also reimburse the cost of repatriating the body to its city of residence.

Maximum amount of coverage is $15,000.

The insurance provides reimbursement for bereavement counselling services, up to a maximum of $1000.

The insurance reimburses the fees for mental health consultations prescribed by a physician, such as therapy sessions or psychological counselling. This coverage is designed to help the insured person overcome the emotional and psychological effects of an accident, such as post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, or other mental disorders resulting from the traumatic event.  

Maximum amount of coverage is $2500.

Additional coverage and options

This coverage is exclusive to CAA-Quebec members.   

The insured person is provided with up to $15,000 to convert their home and vehicle following a permanent injury that results in the use of a wheelchair.

This coverage is exclusive to CAA-Quebec members. It offers these benefits in the event of hospitalization following an accident: 

  • $2500 per month for a period of hospitalization exceeding 30 nights, up to a maximum of 12 months of hospitalization; or 

  • $35 per day for a period of hospitalization longer than 5 nights but shorter than 30 nights.

Of course! In the event of death or loss of use of a member, benefits will be paid to you or your family, even if you have coverage with other insurers, such as the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) in the case of a car accident. 

In addition, you may be eligible for reimbursement of certain expenses not covered (or only partially covered) by your group insurance.   

Like all insurance policies, Accident Insurance distributed by CAA-Quebec includes exclusions, particularly for means of transportation deemed more at risk. Please refer to the policies to learn more about these exclusions.
