Official Contest Rules - Contest Win $1000 in IGA Gift Cards
Contest Organizer and Duration
- The Win $1000 in IGA Gift Cards contest (the “Contest”) is held by Automobile et Touring Club du Québec (A.T.C.Q.), doing business as CAA-Quebec (the “Organizer”).
- The Contest begins on August 20, 2026, at 12:01a.m. and ends on September 12, 2026, at 11:59p.m. (the “Contest Period”). The date and time of receipt of entries will determine their eligibility for the Contest.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Contest, a person must, at the time of their participation in the Contest:
- Be an active member of CAA-Quebec;
- Reside in the province of Quebec; and
- Have reached the age of majority established in the province of Quebec.
- Employees, representatives, agents, and mandataries of the Organizer, its affiliated
companies and subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, sponsors, and suppliers of materials, prizes, and services related to the Contest, as well as any person domiciled with the aforementioned (whether related or not) and any member of their immediate family (father, mother, brother[s], sister[s], child[ren], partners, spouse by the bonds of marriage or de facto) are, however, excluded. - For the purposes of these official rules (the “Rules”), the term “Entrant” means any person who meets the eligibility requirements set out in these Rules and who submits a valid entry to the Contest during the Contest Period, in accordance with these Rules.
How to enter
- No purchase is required to enter the Contest or to win the Prize.
To enter the Contest, the Entrant must, during the Contest Period, proceed in one of the following ways in order to be entered into the Contest and have a chance to win the Prize:
- Entry by purchasing or reloading an IGA gift card
During the Contest Period, any person who purchases or reloads one or more IGA gift cards online on the Boutique's website automatically receives one (1) entry into the Contest for every one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100) purchased or reloaded in IGA gift cards. For illustrative purposes only, 1 purchase and 2 reloads of IGA gift cards, during the Contest Period, for a total of two hundred fifty Canadian dollars (CAD $250), will entitle the person to two (2) entries into the Contest. - Entry by mail
To enter the Contest without purchasing or reloading an IGA gift card on the Gift Card Store website, and thereby have a chance to win the Prize, an eligible person must, during the Contest Period, (i) write an original handwritten text of one hundred (100) words explaining why they wish to win the Prize; (ii) legibly include, following their text, their first name, last name, full address (including postal code), phone number (including area code), and email address; (iii) sign their text; and (iv) send everything, by mail, in a sufficiently stamped envelope to the following address:

The mailed entry must be postmarked no later than September 12, 2026, and received by the Organizer no later than 5:00p.m. on September 16, 2026. The content of each entry submitted by mail must be unique, and photocopies are not accepted. Only one entry by mail, per CAA-Quebec membership number, is permitted during the Contest Period.
- Entry by purchasing or reloading an IGA gift card
- The Organizer shall not be held responsible for entries that are late, lost, not received, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or corrupted, which shall be void and shall not entitle the entrant to any entry into the Contest.
- The use of any automated system, robot, script, computer program, or other process intended to generate entries or to circumvent the normal operation of the Contest is prohibited.
Prize
- There is one (1) prize to be won (the “Prize”), namely:
A total amount of one thousand Canadian dollars (CAD $1000) awarded in the form of one or more IGA gift cards redeemable at participating IGA stores.
- The Prize may not correspond to the photos used in the Contest’s advertising and promotional materials, including, without limitation, in advertisements published on social media, where applicable.
- The Prize is subject to the terms and conditions of use applicable at the time it is awarded. Where applicable, all fees and expenses not specifically mentioned above as being included in the Prize shall be the responsibility of the winner.
- The Prize is non-negotiable and must be accepted “as is” and as awarded, without any warranty, express or implied (including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose).
- The Prize may not be substituted for another prize, except by the Organizer at its sole discretion. The Organizer reserves the right to substitute the Prize for another prize of equal or greater value if the Prize cannot be awarded as described herein for any reason.
- The Prize cannot, in whole or in part, be transferred, assigned, or sold to another person, or exchanged for cash.
- The Contest Organizer, its affiliated and subsidiary companies, their advertising and promotional agencies, sponsors, and suppliers of materials, prizes, and services related to the Contest, as well as their respective directors, executives, owners, partners, employees, mandataries, representatives, agents, successors, and assigns shall not under any circumstances be required to award more prizes than indicated in these Rules, or to award a prize other than in accordance with these Rules.
Draw
- The random draw to determine the winner of the Prize will take place on Thursday, September 21, 2026, at 2:00p.m., at the Organizer’s head office, located at 444 Rue Bouvier, Québec, Quebec G2J 1E3.
- The odds of winning the Prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
Prize award
In order to be declared a winner and claim the Prize, the selected Entrant must:
- be reached by telephone or email by the Organizer or its representatives within five (5) days following the draw. Upon contact by the Organizer, whether by telephone or email, the selected Entrant must follow the instructions communicated by the Organizer or its representatives at that time, as applicable. If the Organizer receives an email delivery failure notice, it may, at its sole discretion, attempt to reach the Entrant by telephone or disqualify the Entrant;
- correctly answer, without any help or assistance whatsoever, a mathematical skill-testing question, which will appear on the release form transmitted by the Organizer or be asked verbally by the Organizer, as applicable;
- duly complete and sign the release form and return it to the Organizer within five (5) days of receipt, either (i) by email, in scanned format, or (ii) by mail, to the mailing address indicated in the release form instructions;
- comply with all Contest conditions set out in these Rules; and
- upon request and in a timely manner, provide photo identification and/or any other document deemed necessary by the Organizer to confirm eligibility.
- Failure to comply with any of the conditions mentioned above, or any other condition set out in these Rules, will result in the selected Entrant’s entry being declared void, and a new draw may be conducted to award the Prize in accordance with these Rules, until a winner is declared.
- The information provided by the selected Entrant upon contact by the Organizer must be complete and truthful. The Organizer shall not be held responsible for any prize claim that is late, misdirected, or incomplete.
- In the event that (i) the Organizer or its representatives are unable to reach the selected Entrant within the allotted time, after having taken reasonable steps to do so; or (ii) the selected Entrant fails to return the release form within the allotted time; or (iii) the selected Entrant informs the Organizer or its representative, upon being contacted to be notified of their selection in the draw, that they refuse the Prize, are not interested in receiving the Prize, or engages in abusive, threatening, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behaviour toward the Organizer or its representatives; or (iv) the selected Entrant breaches these Rules in any way; said selected Entrant will be disqualified and the Organizer may, at its sole discretion, cancel the prize or conduct a new draw in accordance with the terms set out in these Rules, until a winner is identified for the Prize.
General provisions
- Compliance with Contest Rules: By participating in the Contest, any entrant is deemed to have read this Regulation, accepted it, and agreed to comply with it. Failure to comply with this Regulation, or engaging in abusive, threatening, or harassing behaviour toward the Organizer or its representatives, may result in the disqualification of the entrant concerned.
- Document verification: Entry documents and any other item submitted to enter the Contest, if applicable, as well as release forms, may be subject to verification by the Organizer. Any entry containing false, inaccurate, or misleading information, as well as any document that is incomplete, illegible, incomprehensible, fraudulent, mutilated, or submitted late, that includes an invalid email address or phone number, that does not indicate the correct answer to the mathematical skill-testing question, if applicable, or that is otherwise non-compliant with this Regulation may be rejected by the Organizer and will not entitle the entrant to an entry into the Contest or the Prize, as applicable.
- Ownership: Entry documents and any other elements submitted to participate in the Contest, if applicable, as well as release forms, are the property of the Organizer and will not be returned to Entrants under any circumstances.
- Publicity / Use of likeness: By accepting the Prize, the winner consents to the disclosure of their name and city of residence by the Organizer for the purposes of administering and promoting the Contest, in any media (including the Internet and social media) and in any format, in connection with the Contest, without notice or remuneration or compensation.
- No liability: The Organizer assumes no responsibility for any damages or losses that may result, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from participation in the Contest, the award, acceptance, or use (proper or improper) of the Prize, or from technical, computer, or transmission issues that may arise in connection with the administration of the Contest.
- Release of liability: Any person who participates or attempts to participate in this Contest releases, to the extent permitted by applicable law, the Organizer, sponsors, participating partners, advertising and promotional agencies, suppliers of materials, prizes, and services related to the Contest, as well as their respective affiliated and subsidiary companies, and their respective directors, executives, owners, partners, employees, mandataries, representatives, agents, successors, and assigns from any and all liability for any damages of any nature whatsoever that they may suffer or that may result, directly or indirectly, from their participation or attempted participation in the Contest and/or the award, acceptance, or use (proper or improper) of the Prize.
- Disqualification: The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify an Entrant or void any entry if the Entrant enters or attempts to enter the Contest using means that are contrary to these Rules or that are unfair to other entrants (for example: use of automated equipment to enter the Contest, hacking, submitting a number of entries beyond the permitted limit per person, if applicable, etc.). The Organizer reserves the right to report any fraudulent activity to the relevant authorities.
- ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE A WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST CONSTITUTES A VIOLATION OF CIVIL AND CRIMINAL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE ORGANIZER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT THE ENTRIES OF THE ENTRANT IN QUESTION AND TO PURSUE ANY AND ALL REMEDIES AVAILABLE UNDER THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
- Technical failure and early termination: In the event that the computer system is unable to record all Contest entries during the Contest Period for any reason whatsoever, or if the Contest were to end, in whole or in part, prior to the end date set out in these Rules, the draw may be conducted, at the Organizer’s discretion, among the entries duly recorded during the Contest Period or, as applicable, up to the date of the event that caused the Contest to end.
- Communication: No communication or correspondence will be exchanged with Entrants in connection with this Contest other than in accordance with these Rules or at the Organizer’s initiative.
- Privacy and personal information: Personal information is collected by the Organizer for the purposes of administering the Contest and is processed in accordance with its Privacy Policy. No communication, commercial or otherwise, unrelated to the Contest will be sent to entrants, unless they have otherwise consented to it.
- Interpretation: If any paragraph of these Rules is found to be illegal, invalid, unenforceable, or void by a court of competent jurisdiction, that paragraph will be deemed not to form part of the Rules, but all other paragraphs not otherwise affected will be applied to the fullest extent permitted by law.
- Language: In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the French and English versions of these Rules, if such a version exists, the French version will prevail.
- Applicable laws: The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws.
- Decisions of the Contest Organizer: Any decision made by the Contest Organizer and its representatives with respect to the Contest is final and binding.
- Cancellation, Termination, Modification, or Suspension of the Contest: The Organizer reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest, in whole or in part, in the event of any occurrence or human intervention that could corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or normal operation of the Contest.
